Care instructions

Women and we at CAPRICE certainly have one thing in common: we love shoes! All shoe lovers who want to preserve the timeless beauty of their treasures for a long time should look after them regularly. We would like to give you a few tips and tricks on how to look after your shoes so that you can enjoy your favourite pieces for a long time.

Basic tips

Before wearing leather and textile shoes for the first time, apply a thin layer of impregnation three times in succession at a distance of 30 cm and allow to dry for 15 minutes each time.

Use a shoe tree for leather shoes. This will significantly extend the life of your favourite pair of shoes!

Store your shoes in an airy and dry place and give them a chance to breathe!

Nappa and smooth leather

Nappa and smooth leather

To care for smooth leather shoes, you should use either a neutral or coloured leather cream that matches the colour of the shoe. Always apply the cream from the heel to the toe using a cloth, as this allows the care product to be optimally absorbed into the leather. If you have worn the shoes frequently, leave a shoe tree in the shoe so that the leather cream can also penetrate into the creases.

After using care products, you should impregnate the shoes.

For nappa leather, we recommend a wax-based waterproofing spray to care for your shoes.

Our care tip:

If the smooth leather looks matt after impregnation, polish your shoes until they shine!

Nubuck and suede leather

Before cleaning, always brush the leather with a shoe brush to loosen the fibre structure.

Apply the subsequent nubuck care from the heel to the toe of the shoe in dabs, as this allows the care to be optimally absorbed into the fibres and protects the shoe.

After the care product has dried, use the brush again to roughen the leather and restore the original fibre structure. If spots form, you can easily remove them with a small brush.

Our care tip:

Never use a suede brush with brass bristles on light-coloured suede. The brass can discolour the velour green!

Textile

Textile

Before caring for a textile shoe, you should remove coarse dirt with a shoe brush. In the case of heavy soiling, we recommend using a damp cloth or sponge in combination with a cleaning foam and massaging the foam in lightly. Then remove the foam and dirt residues with a new, damp cloth.

Textile shoes should be impregnated regularly to increase their lifespan and protect against wet feet. This also makes caring for textile shoes easier in the long term.

Our care tip:

Nubuck care is also suitable for re-dyeing dark textiles in the corresponding colour!
